October 2017 Blog

The sanctuary is now home to two ferrets called Wallis and Gromit.  Their previous owners had only had them for a few weeks, but then had to move and couldn't take them.  To begin with they were in a hutch but Tamara has had a large run and cage built, with lots of tubes and toys to keep them occupied and happy.

Two ducks have made the sanctuary their home too.  Four of them had been left by the side of a busy road.  Unfortunately, two of the ducks had been run over by the time they were rescued.  Someone took them in but they started harrassing their chickens!  They didn't have a suitable pond either so Tamara gave them a home.

Steve Kingston and Jimbo Franny are organising a few events to raise funds and awareness for the sanctuary.  Huge thanks to them -

November 18th - A stall at Boston and Skegness Vegan Food Share event.  The stall will have Tamara's books for sale, birthday cards and Bibianna mugs filled with sweets and wrapped in cellophane - a great Christmas present.  There will be a lot of other  things going on too - lots of food samples, nutrition and fitness advice plus other stalls.

December 3rd - A stall at the Lincoln Vegan Christmas Fair, with a raffle draw.  Raffle ticket prices to be confirmed.  Businesses donating prizes so far are: Freedom Fibres, Pimentos, a reflexology voucher from Lorraine Carter, some food from The Grumpy Sailor Bakery and artwork from Joanna Botterill.

December 17th - A stall on Boston Christmas Fair.

Steve and Ben Ellis from the band Saboteurs are also arranging a benefit show - more info to follow . .

We can't thank Steve, Jimbo, Ben and everyone else involved enough.

I have started a Justgiving page to hopefully raise money to pay for the roof to be put on the stable.  Winter is nearly here and the horses need to be warm and dry.

The sanctuary is registered with easyfundraising.org.uk.  If you shop through the website the sanctuary receives donations which really adds up.  Thank you to Jade Mcnulty for suggesting this.

You can now sponsor animals that live at the sanctuary.  You will receive a certificate and a photo of the animal that you're sponsoring.  Click on the Sponsor box on this website to find out how.

As always a huge thank you to everyone that supports the animals.
